Pack Log Terms of Use

Last updated: October 10, 2026

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Pack Log app, developed and published by Shuyi Zhao (“we”, “us”, “our”). Pack Log is distributed through Apple’s App Store.

Your license to use Pack Log is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement for apps made available through the App Store (“Apple EULA”):

https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

These Terms supplement the Apple EULA. If these Terms conflict with the Apple EULA on the scope of your license, the Apple EULA controls. You acknowledge that Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you.

By downloading, purchasing, or using Pack Log, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Pack Log Is

Pack Log is an offline-first travel packing app for iPhone and iPad. It helps you keep an inventory of your belongings, build packing lists from reusable kits, track what you have packed, taken out, and put back during a trip, sweep hotel rooms before checkout, run a pre-departure home checklist, and put everything away afterwards. It can optionally sync through iCloud.

Pack Log is a personal organization tool and memory aid. It is not a travel agency, security service, customs or immigration adviser, insurance product, or any kind of guarantee that you will not lose or leave something behind.

2. Eligibility and Your Responsibilities

To use Pack Log, you must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country and meet the minimum age required by Apple’s App Store terms in your region.

You are responsible for:

Do not use Pack Log for illegal activity, to infringe another person’s rights, or in a way that interferes with the app or related services.

3. Pro Purchase and Free Limits

Pack Log is free to download and use. Without a purchase, the app limits you to one open (planned or active) trip at a time and up to eight kits, and shows the three most recent completed trips in the Logbook. Older completed trips are not deleted — they reappear if you unlock Pro.

Pack Log may offer a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase called Pack Log Pro. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew. Pack Log Pro removes those limits and unlocks iCloud Sync, including Delete iCloud Data.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment, taxes, receipts, refunds, family sharing eligibility, and purchase restoration according to Apple’s terms and policies. We do not receive your payment card details, and we cannot issue refunds directly — refund requests go through Apple. You can restore a previous purchase with “Restore Purchases” on the Pack Log Pro screen.

If Apple revokes or refunds your purchase, Pro features lock again. Your existing data is never deleted because of a limit or a lapsed purchase.

Feature availability may depend on your device, iOS version, Apple ID, iCloud availability, App Store availability, and whether Apple reports an active entitlement for your purchase.

4. iCloud Sync

iCloud Sync is optional and requires Pack Log Pro, an Apple ID, iCloud availability, and the app’s sync setting to be turned on.

When iCloud Sync is on, your Pack Log data may sync across devices connected to the same Apple ID. Changes made on one device may appear on other synced devices. If the same record is edited on two devices around the same time, one version wins in its entirety; Pack Log checks for and repairs certain conflicts after syncing (for example, two devices both marking a different trip as active) and tells you when it has adjusted something. Deleting or editing data while sync is on may affect other synced devices.

Enabling sync lets you either keep this device’s data and merge it with iCloud, or replace this device’s data with what is in iCloud (“Restore Existing iCloud Data”). Review the prompt carefully before choosing; replacing cannot be undone. Turning sync on or off takes effect after the app restarts. To limit risk, “Delete iCloud Data” is only available while iCloud Sync is turned off, and Pack Log does not offer a “delete everything on this device” action, so a single action cannot unexpectedly empty your device, your iCloud account, and your other devices at once.

Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policies.

5. Your Data, Safety Snapshots, and Backups

Your Pack Log data belongs to you. Pack Log does not collect it (see the Privacy Policy).

Pack Log does not provide export, import, or backup files. Before certain destructive actions (Delete iCloud Data and Restore Existing iCloud Data) it saves a local safety snapshot on your device as a precaution, but this is an internal safeguard and not a backup service; you should not rely on it to recover your data. Your device’s own backups made through Apple’s tools may include Pack Log’s data, and you are responsible for keeping them if you want a copy.

Delete iCloud Data and Restore Existing iCloud Data can permanently change or remove records. Deleting the app removes its data from that device but not from your iCloud account. Review confirmation prompts carefully before continuing.

6. No Professional Advice

Pack Log does not provide travel, safety, legal, customs, medical, or other professional advice. Suggested kits, sample lists, and forget-spot reminders are examples for personal organization only, and may not suit your destination, airline, or circumstances. Check requirements for your trip (for example, baggage rules and restricted items) with the relevant providers.

7. Privacy

Pack Log’s privacy practices are described in the Pack Log Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how the app stores data locally, uses optional iCloud Sync, handles photos and the camera, and processes purchases through Apple.

8. Intellectual Property

Pack Log, including its design, code, text, graphics, icons, sample kits, and related materials, is owned by us or licensed to us. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Pack Log to you.

You keep ownership of the content you create in the app, including your photos. Because Pack Log does not collect your content, you do not grant us any license to it.

You may use Pack Log only as permitted by these Terms, Apple’s applicable terms, and applicable law.

9. Changes to the App and These Terms

We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features of Pack Log at any time. We may also update these Terms when the app, App Store requirements, or legal requirements change. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Pack Log after updated Terms are made available means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pack Log is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device or iOS version, or that data, sync, restore, photo, reminder, or purchase features will always work as expected, or that using the app will prevent anything from being lost, forgotten, or left behind.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, device issues, iCloud issues, App Store issues, inaccurate records, failed sync or restore, lost, forgotten, stolen, or damaged belongings, missed or disrupted travel, or decisions made using the app.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so is not permitted by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights granted to you by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms reduces those rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using Pack Log at any time. Your rights to use Pack Log may end if you violate these Terms or Apple’s applicable terms. Pro purchase rights are also subject to Apple’s App Store rules and entitlement systems.

13. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Apple EULA and the Pack Log Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Pack Log.
