These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to your use of the Money Diary app, developed and published by Shuyi Zhao (“we”, “us”, “our”). Money Diary is distributed through Apple’s App Store.
Your license to use Money Diary is governed by Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement for apps made available through the App Store (“Apple EULA”):
https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
These Terms supplement the Apple EULA. If these Terms conflict with the Apple EULA on the scope of your license, the Apple EULA controls. You acknowledge that Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, Apple has the right to enforce these Terms against you.
By downloading, purchasing, or using Money Diary, you agree to these Terms.
Money Diary is an offline-first personal expense and income tracker for iOS. It helps you log transactions, organize categories and templates, track recurring payments, analyze spending, use multiple currencies, optionally sync through iCloud, and export or import backups.
Money Diary is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not a bank, accounting firm, tax advisor, investment advisor, credit service, financial institution, or regulated financial-service provider.
To use Money Diary, you must be old enough to form a binding agreement in your country and meet the minimum age required by Apple’s App Store terms in your region.
You are responsible for:
Do not use Money Diary for illegal activity, to infringe another person’s rights, or in a way that interferes with the app or related services.
Money Diary may offer a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase called Money Diary Pro. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew.
Money Diary Pro may unlock features such as additional templates, additional themes, additional recurring entries, iCloud Sync, JSON/CSV import and export, local backup restore, Delete All Data, and Delete iCloud Data.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment, taxes, receipts, refunds, family sharing eligibility, and purchase restoration according to Apple’s terms and policies. We do not receive your payment card details, and we cannot issue refunds directly — refund requests go through Apple.
Feature availability may depend on your device, iOS version, Apple ID, iCloud availability, App Store availability, and whether Apple reports an active entitlement for your purchase.
iCloud Sync is optional and requires Money Diary Pro, an Apple ID, iCloud availability, and the app’s sync setting to be enabled.
When iCloud Sync is enabled, your Money Diary data may sync across devices connected to the same Apple ID. Changes made on one device may appear on other synced devices. Deleting, replacing, or importing data while sync is enabled may affect other synced devices. To limit this risk, some reset tools (such as Delete All Data and Delete iCloud Data) are only available while iCloud Sync is turned off, so a single action cannot unexpectedly affect both your device and your other synced devices or iCloud account at once.
Apple operates iCloud and CloudKit. Your use of iCloud is governed by Apple’s applicable terms and privacy policies.
Money Diary may create local automatic backups — including an automatic safety backup taken immediately before a destructive action — and may allow Pro users to export, import, restore, replace, or delete data.
Exported backup files may contain your personal financial records. You are responsible for protecting exported files and choosing where they are saved.
Import, restore, Replace All Data, Delete All Data, and Delete iCloud Data actions can permanently change or remove records. Replace All Data may sync changes to other devices when iCloud Sync is enabled. Delete All Data and Delete iCloud Data are each scoped to only your device or only your iCloud account, and are only available while iCloud Sync is turned off. Review confirmation prompts carefully before continuing.
Money Diary may use exchange-rate data from an external exchange-rate service (currently ExchangeRate-API) and may cache rates on your device.
Exchange rates, converted totals, charts, summaries, and calculations are provided for convenience only. They may be delayed, rounded, unavailable, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on Money Diary as the sole source for accounting, tax, legal, investment, reimbursement, payroll, or financial decisions.
Money Diary does not provide financial, legal, accounting, tax, investment, or professional advice. Any information shown in the app is for personal organization and general informational purposes only.
Money Diary’s privacy practices are described in the Money Diary Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how the app stores data locally, uses optional iCloud Sync, handles backups, refreshes exchange rates, and processes purchases through Apple.
Money Diary, including its design, code, text, graphics, icons, and related materials, is owned by us or licensed to us. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Money Diary to you.
You may use Money Diary only as permitted by these Terms, Apple’s applicable terms, and applicable law.
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue features of Money Diary at any time. We may also update these Terms when the app, App Store requirements, or legal requirements change. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of Money Diary after updated Terms are made available means you accept the updated Terms.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Money Diary is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, compatible with every device or iOS version, or that data, sync, backup, import, export, exchange-rate, purchase, or restore features will always work as expected.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, loss of profits, business interruption, device issues, iCloud issues, App Store issues, inaccurate records, failed imports or exports, failed backups, failed sync, or financial decisions made using the app.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where doing so is not permitted by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights granted to you by the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence, and nothing in these Terms reduces those rights.
You may stop using Money Diary at any time. Your rights to use Money Diary may end if you violate these Terms or Apple’s applicable terms. Pro purchase rights are also subject to Apple’s App Store rules and entitlement systems.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Apple EULA and the Money Diary Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding Money Diary.
